Alright, Nuka and I are starting this Fantasy RP. Here I'll explain the game and give a couple of basic rules, and then you can sign up. We are using the TCB map created by our very own Micha. Rules: Stay in character at all times unless you absolutely have to say something as "spoiler: OOC", label each action you take against another player as an attempt, don't whine because someone didn't react the way you wanted, don't go "god mode," and don't "just attack someone without reason." Map: Explanation:The Nords are a hardy people. They are best suited to the cold than any other race on the planet. They are as vikings, in the idea that they are truly combat worthy opponents, with a thriving Scandinavian like culture. They came to this land long ago, sailing from lands untouched by any native from these lands, and have since fallen out and established their own Kingdom in the North. The Imperials are a vast empire on the continent. They are expanding downward to claim the lands resources, to fuel its civilization. They are ruled by an Emperor, whom has power over the nations elected Council. Of course, the Council has some control over the Emperor - for example, they have the power to veto his decisions if they directly affect the people, and believe such action will be harmful to them. The Eastern dwarves are a mechanical based civilization, who have made their civilization inside of their mountain. Mechanical defenses rule the outer layer of the mountain, as well as occasional ambushes by the dwarves to allow time to repair or set new traps upon it. It is only through their intelligence, and mild physical-combat prowess and sacrifice, that they have managed to stave off the Imperial army from claiming their home, along with any other threats both human, orc, elf, or mythical. The Dwarves of the north, whom are without a mountain, are outcasts. Thrown out by the dwarves south to them, for advocating that the "Dwarves should rule the lands around them" reasoning that their mechanical innovation could potentially dominate the un-united world. Ironically, they have since descended into tribalistic ways. They hold an intense grudge against those now more advanced than them in the South, due to a lack of metal materials and supplies, and hope to retake what they see as their "rightful home." However, some may argue in their camps that "peace is the way to go." But then again, some question that, with the Nords behind them, is it best to lower their guard at all? The dwarves of the South maintain a similar structure to the dwarves of the far East. After all, it is believe they came from the dwarves of the East. Their structure is based off of a council, based off the ruling families of the dwarves. They fear the Orcs more than anything, and in the past, before the Imperials came, fought on the opposite front of an invading Orc army. They have since, at least for the most part, fallen out of touch. The Orcs are a truly tribalistic bunch. They maintain decent relations to the dwarves of the North, ever since they themselves adopted a similar ruling structure to them. However, everyone knows good relations with the current rulers of the orcs are just a facade, as orc societies main aim (at least in this era) is conquest and repulsion from their lands. The United Races were founded by an Orc, who broke off from the more violent orc faction. It is a nation originally settled by wanderers from all the other lands, who came seeking a new life for themselves, and to establish a "new society" where race did not matter. Ever since its founding, it has been successful. Some orcs, who are seasoned warriors in the North, head to this united land to retire before violently ending their life in one more duel. As there are some in this Kingdom who won't back down from providing such an honor. The Kingdom itself is rather democratic, with an elected leader from the numerous societies within the nation's elders. Central Company is a nation with friendly tied to the Empire/Imperials. They trade with anyone, except directly to the lands they may be at worth with. They aim to maintain good relations, with their belief that "an enemy now can become a customer later." They are governed by their local aristocracy who reap most rewards of society. Southern Elves are a well developed and cultured society. Ruled by a dictator, however, whom believes Elves are the perfect race, and that others are inferior, including other elves. No one race beside Southern Elf, is allowed on the Island, and though they simply exiled the other races before to other lands, now they ruthlessly kill any found in their homeland. They are the best when it comes to magic. The Eastern Elves were elves exiled by the Southern Elves. They are guaranteed protection from the United Races, and rule as a absolute monarchy, just as the Nords, just without the Jarls to govern localities, as their island, and society, is rather small. They are decent with magic, but have come to rely more on archery, equipment, and their skills to keep their foes at bay and off their island. The Islanders are a primitive society of humans. They are currently at war with the Central Company, attempting to resist the colonization of their land, the theft of their natural resources, and the slaughter of their own native people. Recently, they're attempting to modernize, trading their natural resources for weapons with the Nords. Previously, they were divided into competing tribes, each with their own leader. However, the attack on their homeland has forced them to unite, and the island is now ruled by a council of the tribal leaders. The B'halans are an amphibious people who have both lungs and gills, able to be on land and underwater. They are far more intelligent than the other races, and are science-based. Their society is divided into localities, in which all people discuss issues, and then make decisions. Each locality elects a certain number of representatives, based on their population, to the Assembly, which makes important decisions on behalf of the people. These representatives may be recalled at any time by their locality. The Consul, the head of state and government, is elected by all of the people. The Consul appoints a Proconsul, who is the presiding officer of the Assembly. The B'halans keep to themselves, and no one outside of their society understands their language. Please use this format to sign up: That's it. Please make a thread for your race/territory.
